National EMS Week is May 16-22

“This is EMS: Caring for Our Communities”

We thank the dozens of everyday heroes who provide emergency medical service in the Town of Bethlehem. We salute the Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs), Paramedics, and other responders of Delmar-Bethlehem EMS and the Albany County Sheriff’s Office EMS Unit.

Meet our heroes and learn why they became members

My dad volunteered as an EMT when I was little, and I've always wanted to do the same. And I like to volunteer my time in my community.

I was inspired by my husband who started as a volunteer firefighter when he was in high school, and is now a member of Elsmere Fire Co.  Wanting to give something back to the community, this is an area where I thought I could contribute. Once our children were in college, I  had enough time to devote to becoming an EMT and volunteering on a regular basis.

I grew up in town, and saw the great work that DBEMS and ACSO did, not only for the community, but for my family. When my neighbors, friends, and family are in need of help, I love being there to provide them the care they deserve.

I wanted to serve in the county I reside in and see new places within the county.

I volunteer for DBEMS because I love EMS and I have come to love the agency, its members and the town of Bethlehem. I work as an assistant administrator at Delmar Center at 125 Rockefeller Rd, one of my favorite parts of the job is helping DBEMS/ACSO when they come for a medical emergency.
